T-205 and T-206 Card Company (Tobacco)

Prior to World War I, tobacco companies came up with the idea of including cards featuring images of baseball players with their tobacco.  Customers loved the cards, and so a new industry was born. Collectors use the terms T-205 and T-206 to refer to these cards, which were put out multiple tobacco companies. The most famous of the cards is the Honus Wagner which is a T-206 card that was part of a 524 card set. The T-206 cards were smaller than what is considered a traditional baseball sized card. The T-206 cards are 1.4375" x 2.625" inches and are considered part of the pre-war era.
