Fleer Card Company
Fleer was apparently the first company to successfully manufacture bubble for sale to the general public. It got into the business of baseball cards as an add-on to its candy, but eventually the cards became its major line of business. Fleer had a lot of legal problems, so it produced cards less consistently than Topps. However, it has contributed many interesting cards. For example, the 1959 Fleer set was completely devoted to Ted Williams. In 1984, it was the only major manufacturer to release a Roger Clemens cards.
